First Steps

October 6, 2026

Patch 0.2.5 is out for everyone with a key. It brings the iron menus, the Gambler and the Account-Found boards from the last three entries, and the changes below. Steam updates the game by itself, so restart it if it was running.

A new character now starts with a short guide. It walks you from the camp into the graveyard one step at a time: moving, sprinting, the dodge roll, the gate, a fight, a skill, loot, a potion when you get hurt, and your first point in the skill tree. It shows once, on the first new character you make, and one click on Skip guide ends it.

The game now opens fullscreen at your screen's own resolution instead of in a small window. F11 switches between a window and fullscreen, and F10 hides the HUD for clean screenshots. In a window the mouse is free to leave it, and the Fullscreen setting always picks a size your monitor supports.

The intro no longer ends on a stray click. The first press asks you to press again, and only the second one skips it.

At the shops an item's price now stands large in its tooltip, together with how to buy it. If you buy something by mistake, sell it back before you close the shop and the full price comes back.

The Charnel King's thorns are easy to read now. While they are up he glows red, the word THORNS stands over his name and on his health bar, and every hit you land on him shows REFLECTED over your own head. The damage is the same as before.

A Dread Map now keeps its exit sealed until four in five of its monsters and its guardian are slain. The quest panel under the minimap counts your kills and tells you when the way out opens. A town portal still takes you home at any time.

This patch also fixes three bugs.

  • Archers and witches no longer stop attacking for good when the target they were aiming at dies.
  • A vault over something that broke in mid-jump no longer stops you vaulting for the rest of the session.
  • Items no longer roll a stat that needs a higher level than the demo lets you reach, so everything you find or craft can be worn.
